We invite you to step into a world of wonder, resilience, and imagination with, ‘1001 Nights’. This groundbreaking theatrical reimagining of the timeless tales showcases the extraordinary talents of disabled actors from a range of organisations and art forms, weaving their unique experiences into the vibrant tapestry of our hero, Scheherazader’s, storytelling.

Scheherazade is a young woman faced with challenges, who uses her own hard work, resourcefulness, and self-advocacy to prevail: a narrative not unfamiliar to our young performers.

Featuring the dynamic collaboration of renowned disabled arts groups, each performance breathes new life into these ancient stories with unparalleled creativity and authenticity. From mesmerizing dance and movement pieces to heartfelt monologues, these groups have all contributed to transforming ‘1001 Nights’ into a celebration of diversity and the boundless power, when people are empowered to tell their own stories.

You will experience the magic of inclusion and the beauty of our young performers’ perspectives, where every idea you see has come from them, supported in the process by teams of outstanding creative enablers. Every voice holds power and these creative enablers have worked diligently together to make sure that our performers’ voices and expression are heard.

Our production is enchanting, trailblazing, and empowering – an ode to artistry, humanity, and the infinite possibilities of speaking up for what you want, and in doing things for yourself.
